One argument I get from friends and family all the time about eating healthy is that it is too expensive.

I agree with them. It can be expensive.

I spend more money on certain healthy and organic foods than I would on cheap food filled with preservatives and trans fat, which is pretty sad.

That being said, I would also argue that there are many healthy foods that you can buy that won’t break the bank. It might take some planning and thinking, but it is possible.

I’ll give you a head start only our healthy grocery list with these 8 inexpensive and nutritious foods:

  1. Canned beans as beans are high in protein, fiber, and minerals like iron, zinc, and magnesium. Black beans and chickpeas are constantly in my food pantry.
  2. Frozen vegetables can be just as nutritious as fresh and are often cheaper. I always keep frozen veggies on hand and roast them in the oven.
